Minimally Invasive Surgery for Safer, Faster Recovery

Many conditions that once needed a large surgical cut can now be treated through a few small incisions. At Kathir Hospital, our surgical team offers laparoscopic (keyhole) and robotic-assisted surgery for conditions of the abdomen, pelvis and reproductive system, with careful evaluation before surgery and close support afterwards.

Treat the problem effectively while keeping pain, blood loss and hospital stay to a minimum, so you can get back to your family and routine sooner.

Overview

What patients should know about laparoscopic and robotic surgery

Laparoscopic surgery uses tiny cuts and a small camera. In robotic surgery, the doctor controls precise instruments from a console and always stays in charge.

Questions patients may ask

Clear answers to common questions about keyhole and robotic surgery, procedures and recovery.

Is laparoscopic surgery safe?

Yes, it is a well-established technique performed by trained surgeons. As with any surgery, there are risks, and your surgeon will discuss them with you. In some cases the surgeon may need to convert to open surgery for safety.
Both use small incisions. In robotic surgery, the surgeon operates the instruments through a console that offers a magnified 3D view and very precise movements. Your surgeon will advise which option suits your condition.
Recovery depends on the procedure, but most patients return to light daily activities within a few days and to full activity within a few weeks. Your surgeon will give you a timeline that fits your case.
